Sliding Barn Doors to the Playroom

When we moved into our house, we only had our son who was 3 months old at the time.  So 3 bedrooms and an office was plenty of room in our minds and we would even be able to use the office as an office!  For the first couple of years, it was such a nice space, always clean, and my husband could hang all of his baseball and sports memorabilia to display.

Fast forward another year and we have a 3 year old and a 2 year old....Stuff is everywhere.  Our living room is consumed by little micro cars that hurt like hell when stepping on and a constant state of chaos.  Something had to be done.

So we sacrificed the office and decided to turn it into the playroom.  The only problem was that the doors were see through.  Anyone who has a clean playroom at the end of the day, please send me your secret.  Even if there is a secret, it probably won't work in my house because I will become insane in the membrane if I try to clean up behind them every second.

I recruited my husband and he looked at me like I had already lost my mind.  I asked him if we could build some barn doors to hid the mess if someone comes over.  After convincing him I did not need a psychiatric evaluation, he agreed.  And this was the result of my mother's day present!
He did a faculous job and they turned out exactly like I wanted them.  He even got creative on the hardware and track, and created this track piece by piece.  I spray painted it black and I love the industrial feel combined with the rustic feel.  Our kids are able to open them easily and the hide the massive state of destruction that lies behind them
