My name is Christy and I am a school counselor by day and a DIY'er by night. I am the wife to an amazingly supportive husband that looks at me like I have lost all brain cells the majority of the time, but always goes along with my crazy ideas. The day he brought home something out of the dumpster he thought I would like, he had my heart forever. (For those that know him, this is a HUGE step for him!). I have two beautiful children that continue to amaze me and are truly miracles on earth.
I have always loved to create things, paint, and transform something that one would consider trash to something of beauty and soul. It wasn't until I lost my mother almost 3 years ago now to Pancreatic Cancer at the age of 52 that I truly started to explore my talent and passion. I owe everything I know to my mother who was an incredible talent and one of the most creative people I know.
As a counselor, we are always taught the importance of self care. This is my therapy, and it allows my soul to breathe and flourish. The name Hallie's HeART came from my dedication to my mom. Her maiden name was Halliburton and growing up she was sometimes given the nickname Hallie so I thought of nothing more appropriate than to name my page after her. She was my partner in crime, and I miss her every day, more than the last. I now have a beautiful niece that is named Hallie who will continue to honor her in so many ways.
